Why Choose Radio Friendly?

I started to think the other day, what sets Radio Friendly apart from other media outlets? I’d like to envision this blog/YouTube endeavour to be a suitable mix of Vice, The Needle Drop and maybe even triple j. But without the shite journalism of some of these outlets; I’m speaking content wise. But why choose Radio Friendly? What does this blog offer that you can’t already get within the three aforementioned?

I won’t be posting content every day. Though I’d like to, I just don’t have the time between my day job and home life. Especially videos, that shit takes a while to write/film/edit when you only know how to do one-and-a-half of those things. But what I can guarantee is that my content won’t be half-assed. Even though I started Radio Friendly at the beginning of 2018, I’m no virgin to this industry. I’ve been writing about music, commenting on what annoys me about it, and writing about the Brisbane music scene since 2013. I’ve spent years writing about bands, learning the ins and outs, going to gigs, and forming my own opinions about what is good and what is bad music. I take pride in what I do and what I write, something that I think is evident if you read enough of my dribble. Especially if you put a Radio Friendly article up against some shit triple j spewed out onto the internet as of late.

What separates Radio Friendly from the other outlets is identity. I might have other people come on board and write, but the ethos will be the same: support an individual’s voice. I’m not afraid to tell it how it is. I’m not going to shit all over a band because they’ve made bad music, but without constructive criticism, how do we improve? This blog won’t shy away from the taboo subjects (yes, I know it’s mostly music content now) but it’s also not going to be gutter filth. What you can expect from Radio Friendly is the opposite of being radio friendly; content with a little bit of excitement if you will. And well written too. So, choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television. Choose Radio Friendly.
